Because of high growth rate of allocated area and the essential role of water for coffee, water and especially underground water is in the alarming situation in this area. In the dry season, in the blossom and fruit period, around 1500-3000 m³ of water per hectares need to be provided for coffee.
On the other hand, it seems that pesticide and chemical fertilizer were overused. The soil in Daklak is so spongy that nutrients were easily infiltrated to underground water, affecting daily water and even aquaculture in the long term. In addition, price of inputs (fuels and fertilizer) increased in the recent times. The overuse of input has effect not only on environment but also household’s economy.
