This paper discusses a number of policy issues which are aimed at enhancing the growth of small and medium-scale enterprises in Africa. It identifies the macro-policies that African countries adopt in the pursuit of their economic development as well as analyzing how these policies influence the growth of SMEs. The obstacles aimed at preventing financial market integration and improved intermediate for familiar SME growth are investigated.
The paper also examines the impact of SME based skills’ upgrading and investment in technology.
