The Fisheries Ministry is to pour more than 35 billion VND to build a centre transferring aquatic breeding techniques to farmers in Mekong Delta Soc Trang province
The ministry also plans to build seven more aquatic product breeding nurseries in the region with a capacity of 72 billion fry.
Although the Mekong Delta is currently home to almost 1,500 aquatic product breeding centres, they are only able to meet a small proportion of demand from local producers, particularly for high-quality shrimp fry.
