Fimex to spend 40b dong on new seafood processing plant

Listed seafood processor Sao Ta Foods Joint Stock Co of Fimex Vietnam (FMC) announced it plans to invest 40 billion dong to build a new processing plant with all produce destined for export in the southern province of Soc Trang, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (Vasep).
Construction is planned to start at the end of this year.
In addition, the company will focus on trade promotion and market strategy in Russia and Korea instead of traditional market of Japan and large consume channel of supermarkets.
From the start of the year, export turnover of the company reached over US$20 million, increasing 20% over last year.
