Arkansas is the leading rice-producing state in the U.S., representing 48.7% of the total U.S production and 48.6% of the total acres planted to rice. There are nearly about 9,000 big farmers working on rice in Arkansas, and they are tightly cooperative with farmer-cooperative firm for marketing their products, and with research and agricultural extension agency for consuming research results for their crop production.

Từ đầu tháng 5 đến nay, mặc dù đang giữa mùa thu hoạch nhiều loại trái cây ở ĐBSCL, nhưng trái cây ngoại vẫn đổ về.

Market information plays an important role for different players in the economy, from policy makers to business community, manufacturers, consumers, and farmers. An accurate and updated market information system will help the market to operate efficiently, reduce cost and risk, and increase production quantity and profits. However, in order to conduct an agricultural market information service for each commodity sector, which fully reflects the current situation and forecasts trends for future, it is necessary to have a focal institution for gathering information (collecting database on crop production, stock and consumption information, trade market and prices, weather conditions…), and analyzing developments that affect the commodity sector.

Tại buổi làm việc với Trung tâm Nghiên cứu Phát triển cây thanh long, ông Huỳnh Văn Tí, Bí thư Tỉnh ủy tỉnh Bình Thuận đã nhấn mạnh Trung tâm phải rà soát, công bố quy hoạch phát triển cây thanh long gắn với điều kiện thổ nhưỡng, giao thông, thủy lợi,... tránh tình trạng phát triển tràn lan, không theo quy hoạch như hiện nay.
