Dong Nai’s coffee exports up by almost 33 percent
30 | 07 | 2014
Dong Nai Province’s coffee exports reached almost 130,000 tonnes and almost US$276 million in the first six months of this year, an almost 33 percent increase in volume and a 30.3 percent increase in revenue from the same period last year.

Cashew kernel exports were estimated at almost 11,000 tonnes and almost US$70 million during this time, a 12.6 percent increase in volume and a 20.7 percent increase in revenue. The province’s export markets such as Japan and the European Union (EU) have recovered. Unlike last year when cashew inventories were high due to export difficulties, so far this year many businesses have increased production to meet the demand.

As a result of a bad harvest, the province’s pepper exports in the first half of this year fell by more than 35 percent in volume against a year ago. However, the price of pepper increased a record high to more than VND170,000 per kilo due to the increasing demand
