Off – season dragon fruit prices up in Tien Giang province

Dragon fruit prices in Gao Market, Tien Giang province increased sharply. Traders said the farm gate price is at 8000 VND per kilo, up 3000 VND per kilo from the previous week
Even in some places such as My Tho market and Thanh Tri market dragon fruits are offered at 12,000 VND per kilo.*
Most of growers make their efforts to make off-season flowers booming for earlier fruits. This has brought a profit of 2000 VND per kilo. Mr Nguyen Van Thinh said, the total cultivation area of the province is more than 2000 ha, 70% of which is made for earlier flowers boom.
