A Thai livestock company has just received an investment licence from the southern province of Ben Tre to open a US$68.5 million US dollars plant to produce feed for fish and shrimp farming.

Provincial People's Committee vice chair Nguyen Quoc Bao issued the licence to CP Vietnam Livestock Co Ltd on Thursday November 22.

When completed in August 2008, the plant will operate with total capacity of 384,000 tonnes per year.

The Mekong Delta province has 40,000 hectare being used for raising sugpo (king tiger) prawns and tra and basa catfish.
