A cooperation agreement to this effect is being mulled over by the five countries, which belong to the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS), said the Vietnamese Trade Ministry. The chief content of the agreement will be the transfer of farming techniques and the sharing of information in order to raise the competitiveness of their rice in the world market.
Viet Nam already signed a rice export agreement with Thailand . The two countries plan to meet in Ha Noi in July to discuss the implementation of the accord.
