The report “Vietnam’s Fertilizer market in Quarter II/2009” is a continuation of the early reports published by the Information Center for Agriculture and Rural Development. It is intended to provide comprehensive and up-to-date information about Vietnam’s fertilizer industry with a heavy emphasis on the fertilizer market in quarter II and forecasts for the second half of 2009 concerning supply, demand and price. In the report, we also analyze both exchange rate-driven risks and constraints facing fertilizer trading enterprises on accessing foreign currencies; influences of Chinese governmental fertilizer export policies on Vietnam market; the issue of fake fertilizers and measures to regulate Vietnam’s fertilizer market that have been in effect until now.

All the data presented in the report are obtained from publicized sources of reputable organizations including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA), Cultivation Department – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, General Department of Vietnam Customs, General Statistics Office, and so on.
