Central Province Calling for Foreign Investment for Key Projects by 2010

Provincial authorities of Quang Ngai are calling for foreign investments into 79 projects between now and 2010, Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday.
Thirty seven projects will located in Dung Quat Economic Zone and 42 others which will focus on areas of trade, services and tourism will be other IPs.
IPs of Tinh Phong, Quang Phu and Pho Quang will house projects in the fields of wooden furniture, consumer goods and construction materials.
As of October, the Dung Quat EZ had attracted 125 projects valued $8.64 billion with one-third of these have been operational.
The largest project is the $2.5 billion Dung Quat Refinery, Vietnam’s first oil refinery. It is followed by the $3.3 billion steel plant by Taiwan’s Tycoons group.
Enterprises at the Dung Quat EZ are expected to obtain an industrial production value of VND600 billion ($37.5 million), a service turnover of VND80 billion, and an export earning of $30 million in 2007. (Vietnam & World Economy)
