Japanese businesses keen on investment in Ha Noi
24 | 11 | 2007
Nearly 100 Japanese businesses attended a seminar on Ha Noi’s investment environment jointly held by the Ha Noi Representative Office in Japan and the Tokyo Bureau of Labour and Industrial Affairs in Tokyo on November 20.

At the seminar, they were briefed of Viet Nam ’s renewal achievements, including an annual average economic growth rate of 7.5-8 percent, to become one of countries having the highest and stable growth rates. By becoming a member of the World Trade Organisation, and a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2008-09 term, Viet Nam has improved its position and stature in the world arena, luring more foreign investors to arrive in the country for business.

Nguyen Thi Thuy Van from the Ha Noi Rep. Office introduced the city’s socio-economic development and its environment for investment. She said the seminar aimed to provide information to Japanese investors, helping them to make correct decisions in choosing destination for their projects.

Many Japanese experts who worked for Viet Nam for years, including Tatsutoshi Satake from the Daiwa House Industry Co. Ltd, spoke of Viet Nam and Ha Noi, giving participants an overview of business environment and opportunities in the country
