Rubber price falls
27 | 11 | 2007
Vietnam Rubber Association reported that the country’s rubber exports could not reach the target of 780,000 tonnes due to the scarce supply.

Although Vietnam's rubber output this year reached 600,000 tonnes, increasing 553,500 tonnes year-on-year, rubber imports from neighbouring countries into Vietnam for re-export decreased sharply.

According to statistics, up to October 2007, Vietnam exported about 576,000 tonnes bringing in US$1.08 billion, declining 0.43% in volume but rising 1.07% in value in comparison with the same period of last year.

This month, the price of rubber for export increases from US$1,700 to US$2,400 a tonne.
