To meet rising demand of Southern consumers, amount of pork supplied to two wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City for the second week of September increased 5.31%. Amount of pork transported to Hoc Mon, Binh Dien wholesale markets increased 5.73%, at 203 tons per day and 4.82%, at 174 tons per day respectively (up 8 tons per day). The price of rump-pork at Binh Dien wholesale market stays stable at VND 55,000 per kilogram while it changes at Hoc Mon market.

Amount of pork transported to Hoc Mon, Binh Dien wholesale markets increased 5.73%, at 203 tons per day and 4.82%, at 174 tons per day respectively (up 8 tons per day). The price of rump-pork at Binh Dien wholesale market stays stable at VND 55,000 per kilogram while it changes at Hoc Mon market.

Unlike rising trends in previous weeks, the price of live hog in Can Tho this week suddenly tumbles, down 5.93%, down 5.19% in Ho Chi Minh City, down 4.64% in Da Nang, down 0.71% in Hanoi which is down at the lowest level. Whereas, price of rump pork still continuous to decrease, only price of rump pork in Hanoi remains unchanged at 65,000 VND per kg.
The price of beef at markets this week is as same as that of live hog pork. Beef prices in 4 main markets are also down 5,500 VND per kg in Da Nang, 4,500 VND per kg in Can Tho, 2,500 VND per kg in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.

Price of processed chicken in Hanoi remains unchanged this week while price of chicken in Lam Dong reduced VND 5,000 dong per kilogram in each type, including 95,000 VND and 45,000 VND for ready-made chicken and ready-made industrial chicken.

To stabilize prices in domestic, bring benefits to consumers and decrease food price in domestic, Government decreased import tax for livestock products, which is earlier than commitment in access to WTO. Import-export tax for livestock product has been down so amount of import pork and chickens were up at high level in the 8 months earlier which made a significant pressure for domestic livestock products when competing with cheap import products from other countries.
