Consumer price index by October in 2 large cities is likely to reduce compared to last month, which is considered positive factor contributing to keeping price of meat and food. However, if the suggestion of petrol price increase is approved, it will make retail price of meat and food by November up due to an increase of shipment cost and consumer trend by late months.

Main movements and trends:

- Pork amount at Hoc Mon market reduces to 249 tons/day
- Retail price of live hog in HCMC is stable at 35,500 VND/kg
- Hams price in Hanoi and HCMC by October reduces 0.5-1.3% compared to that by September
- Silverside price this week is stable
- Chicken price in the North this week is down
- Government suggests raising tariff rate on fresh, frozen and chilled beef from 5 - 20% to 5 - 33%
