Vietnam July coffee exports down 3.2% yoy at 1m bags

Vietnam’s coffee exports in July are likely to have fallen 3.2% on year in terms of volume but risen 37% in terms of value, according to estimates issued Thursday July 26 by the General Statistical Office.
The GSO said July coffee exports are expected to total 60,000 metric tonnes, or 1 million 60-kilogram bags, valued at US$100 million. In July 2006, Vietnam exported 62,000 tonnes valued at US$73 million.

The GSO revised down the country's coffee exports for June to 70,000 tonnes, or 1.17 million bags, compared with previous estimates of 75,000 tonnes or 1.25 million bags. So far this crop year, which started October 2006, Vietnam has exported 1.117 million tonnes, or 18.617 million 60-kilogram bags, up 45.1% on year.
