Quang Ngai to boost seafood exports

The province has decided to spend nearly 687 billion VND (42.93 million USD) to implement a comprehensive agriculture development programme from 2006-10.

The programme aims to spur the annual growth rate of Quang Ngai’s aquacultural products 6 to 7 percent to achieve a seafood export value of 8 million USD.

Fisheries and breeding ponds are expected to make up 64.93 and 35 percent respectively in the province’s production structure.

Local authorities have been improving infrastructure and applying the Government’s policies and regulations in order to fulfil the programme.
