Coffee

Robusta coffee price (domestic) fluctuated slightly in the week (14/5-18/5). From the beginning to the end of the week, price level was 1065 USD/ton, price was stable and kept at the level of 1635 USD/ton in the middle days, in the end of the week, price increased by 1673USD/ton. Robusta coffee price in London market fluctuated much. Price in the beginning of the week (May,14th) was 1655 USD/ton, it tended to increase slightly, the price was 1553 USD/ton on May15th, meaning that, decreased a bit compared to May14th, in the next days, the price increased back at the level of 1691USD/ton and 1714USD/ton, respectively, corresponding to the days of July14th,15th. At the end of the week, on May 18th, it reached at the level of 1727 USD/ton, It is predicted that coffee price will softly decrease in the coming week.

Rubber

Rubber price tended to increase rapidly in the week. In the beginning of the week, RSS3 rubber export price in Tokyo market (Japan) was 270 JPY/kg, on May 15th, price increased by 273,8 JPY/kg and continuously increased by 283,8 JPY/kg in the following days. On May 17th, price increased slightly and maintained at the level of 286 JPY/kg till the end of the week. In Vietnam, this was the starting time of rubber harvest crop, commonly, price will tend to decrease slightly but in reality, export price increased up. It is predicted that rubber price will increase in the coming weeks.

Exporting rice

In comparison with the days of last week-end, rice price (the week from 14-18/5) tended to decrease down. 5% broken rice price for export of Vietnam was 302 USD/ton in the beginning of the week decreasing 2 USD compared to the end days of last week. In the following days, the price tended to decrease slightly and at the end of the week, the price level maintained at 299.5 USD/ton. 5% broken rice price for export of Thailand increased slightly from 315 USD/ton to 317 USD/ton and softly fluctuated in the week. It is predicted that various export rice price will increase in the following weeks of this month.

High quality Rice seed

There is no critical change in the price of high quality rice seed in the week. Average price of the week was 3040 VND/kg. With this price level, high quality rice seed increased a bit compared to the average level of 3020 VND/kg in last week and increased around 50VND/kg compared to the price of previous two weeks. At the moment, high quality rice seed price is quite stable. It is predicted that the price will has no change or has softly decrease in the coming weeks.

Fertilizer& Pesticide

At the beginning of the week(14/5) was 7800 VND/kg , meaning that, it increased 200 VND/kg compared to the price of the end of previous week. There was no change in the middle of the week. It decreased at the level of 7700VND/kg at the week-end

URE fertilizer price increased slightly from 5500 VND/kg in the beginning of the week to 5600VND/kg in the middle of the week and had no change in following days. Retailing pesticide price in An Giang also was maintaining at 22000VND/bottle. This price level kept in the long term from last weeks and it is predicted that it will maintain in the coming week

RE sugar ( Domestic)

Last week. RE sugar price did not increase comparing to previous week in almost of provinces. In An Giang market, retailing price was 7500 VND/kg, in Bac Lieu, the price is higher at 11000 VND/kg. Sugar retailing price in Lam Dong province was 8000 VND/kg decreasing 500 VND compared to last week and the price in Kien Giang was 7500 VND/kg increasing 300VND/kg. Sugar price in almost of areas in the country had no change but due to the impact of world sugar price, it tended to decrease rapidly. It is predicted that sugar price will change inconsiderably in the following weeks of this month.

Peppercorn

Due to the impact of the increased peppercorn price in world market at the end of April, peppercorn price ( the week from 06-11/5) increased sharply, in the following weeks (14-48/5) the price only increased 1000VND, meaning that it cooled compared to weeks in the end of April. In the middle of May, world peppercorn market tended to decrease. It is predicted that peppercorn price will change much in the coming time.
