The State contributed 43 billion VND and the rest was financed by local fishermen.
The project will perfect the liaison information system between fishing vessels controlling stations at 60 coastal border posts and 28 fisheries and marine resources protection and exploitation departments.
It will also build a fishing vessel management centre, upgrade the capacity of transmitting of 18 stations of the maritime information system and equip 30,000 receivers and 1,000 wireless transceivers.
Once the project is completed by the end of next year, fishing vessels will be provided with information in anticipation of mishaps at sea while organisations, agencies, businesses and fishing vessel owners will be able to provide exact information for sea rescue and research.
