Three more Vietnamese seafood enterprises have received license from the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Physio-Sanitary Surveillance (VPSS) to resume their exports to Russia.
Thus, total number of Vietnamese enterprises eligible to ship seafood to the country has to date reached 14, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.

The newly-recognized enterprises are Vinh Quang Seafood JSC, Hung Ca Co. Ltd and Saigon Tam Tam JSC.

The others include An Giang Fisheries Import-Export Joint Stock Company (AGIFISH Co.), the Southern Fishery Industry (SOUTHVINA), Mekong Group, Cafatex Fishery Joint Stock Company (Cafatex Corp), Changhua Vietnam Seafood Co., (VINA CHANGHUA), Tuan Anh Corp, Mekong Delta Food Factory, Tay Do Seafood Enterprise, Pacific Frozen Seafood Factory, Cho Lon Seafood Processing Enterprise, and the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Seafood Import-Export Processing Company.

Vasep Vice Chairman Ngo Phuoc Hau said that the VPSS’s inspectors are now working with more than 20 local seafood processing and exporting enterprises, on their third inspection lasting until September 26.

Working with the VPSS mission on September 16, Hau pledged that Vietnamese businesses will improve product quality to meet Russia’s requirements on hygiene and safety.

Russia has become one of Vietnam’s major markets and in the first half of this year Russia accounted for 5.2 per cent of Vietnam’s total seafood export turnover, ranking fifth seafood importers after the EU, the US, Japan and the Republic of Korea. (Labor, Vietnam & World Economy)
