Vietnam’s agriculture in 2008 and outlook for 2009 is the second report implemented by the Information Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (AGROINFO), Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development (IPSARD).

2008 global and domestic economies experienced serious ups and downs; Vietnamese agricultural sector also had dramatic changes. To provide readers with profound insights into the development, this annual report intends to present comprehensive analyses and updated information on the development of Vietnamese agriculture in 2008 and to foresee main trends of 2009. The report serves as a useful reference material for policy makers, researchers, donors, individuals and foreign and inland organizations, especially the business communities to formulate appropriate development strategies in short term and medium term in the context of new development.
The report includes the main contents: (i) Context of Vietnam’s agricultural development in 2008, (ii) Overview of Vietnam’s agricultural development in 2008; (iii) Some outstanding issues in Vietnam’s 2008 agricultural development; (iv) Outlook for Vietnam’s agriculture in 2009.
