29 | 09 | 2007
Vietnam’s capital City of Hanoi will launch a big sale month from October 1 to 31 to ignite a shopping spree, promote business and production activities and attract more tourists, said the organizers of the Hanoi Departments of Trade and Tourism.
This will be the first of its kind in the capital so far, said the organizers, adding that 310 enterprises and shops have registered to take part in and pledged to offer various promotions at 722 shops and service providing locations with discounts up to 50 per cent.

Along with products to be discounted, many services in the tourism, banking, postal and telecommunications, hotel and restaurant sector will also reduce their rates.

Market control force will take a close watch over shops and locations that have registered to participate in the promotion month to ensure that these enterprises follow their commitments.

Meanwhile, the southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City has organized such the event since 2004, aiming to boost shopping and attract local and foreign visitors.

The city government has decided to choose September as a yearly promotion month.
