HCM City FDI reaches US$2b in Jan-Nov

The Ministry of Planning and Investment reported that since the start of this year, HCM City has attracted additional about US$2 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) capital with over 400 newly licensed projects worth US$1.7 billion in registered capital and capital increase license for 125 other projects with a capital plus of over US$286 million.


In which, 166 FDI projects worth nearly US$970 million focus on asset trading and consultancy service, followed by 120 projects worth US$264 million invested in the industry sector.

Korea takes the lead among 33 foreign investors in HCM City with 128 projects worth more than US$815 million.

Up to this time, the city has nearly 2,560 FDI projects with a total registered capital of US$16.5 billion, rising 21% in project numbers and 15% in capital against the same period of last year.

In Jan-Nov, the city granted business licenses to 15,800 private and foreign invested enterprises with total registered capital of 124.1 trillion dong.
