VIETNAM’S RUBBER SECTOR QUARTER 3/2009

The report “Vietnam rubber industry in quarter III/09” is a continuation of the annual report “Vietnam rubber industry in 2008 and outlook for 2009” previously published by the Information Center for Agriculture and Rural Development.

“Vietnam rubber industry in quarter III/09” is intended to provide comprehensive and up-to-date analyses of factors affecting the domestic and global rubber markets in the first 9 months of 2009 and prospects for market trends in the final months of the year.

• Rubber production in Vietnam and worldwide;

• Price movements in the domestic and global rubber markets

• Factors affecting international rubber supply and demand: major producing countries, movements of the automobile industry, oil prices, etc.

• Prospects for the final months of 2009: Rubber prices, rubber demand and supply, potential rubber export markets, etc.

• Case studies of the two companies: Dong Phu Rubber Joint Stock Company (DPR) and Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company (DRC)

“Vietnam rubber industry in quarter III/09” is intended to be a helpful reference for central and grass-root policymakers, international organizations, donors and the business community in drawing up business strategies. All the data presented in the report are obtained from publicized sources of reputable organizations including the International Rubber Study Group (IRSG), Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC), General Statistics Office of Vietnam, General Department of Vietnam Customs, Cultivation Department – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam.
